Teapot
Strainer (optional)
- 10-15 fresh lemon balm leaves or 1 tbsp dried
- 8 oz hot water not boiling
- Honey or agave optional
- Lemon slice optional
Rinse fresh lemon balm leaves or measure dried leaves.
Heat water until steaming but not boiling.
Crush the leaves to release the oils, then add them to a teapot or cup.
Pour hot water over the leaves, cover, and let it steep for 5-10 minutes.
Strain (optional), add honey or lemon slice if desired.
Drink slowly to enhance the calming effect.
This tea is best enjoyed fresh but can be made in larger batches and stored in the fridge for a day or two.
Lemon balm can also be used in fruit salads, smoothies, or frozen into ice cubes.
