Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • Measuring cups
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cup kale stems removed
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup coconut water OR unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 green apple cored (optional)
  • 1/2- inch fresh ginger peeled
  • Handful of ice cubes if using fresh fruit
  • Squeeze of lime

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients: Remove kale stems and peel the ginger.
  • Layer Blender Correctly: Add liquids first, then soft fruits, followed by greens, and finally frozen items.
  • Blend Smoothly: Start on low speed for 10-15 seconds, then increase to medium and high, blending for 45-60 seconds.
  • Taste and Adjust: Add more banana if too bitter, more liquid if too thick, or lime juice for extra brightness.
  • Serve Immediately: Pour into a glass and enjoy fresh within 15 minutes for maximum nutrients.

Notes

Store leftover ingredients (pineapple, banana) in freezer bags for quick prep.
Use baby kale instead of regular for a milder taste.
Add protein powder or Greek yogurt for a more filling version.
Avoid storing blended smoothie for long, as it may separate and lose freshness.
