Equipment

  • Tea kettle or pot
  • Mug or teapot
  • Strainer (if using loose tea or fresh ginger)

Ingredients

  • 1 green tea bag or 1 tsp loose leaf green tea
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger sliced or grated
  • 1 cinnamon stick or 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Optional Lemon juice or raw honey to taste

Instructions

  • Boil water and let it cool for 2-3 minutes (to prevent bitterness in the green tea).
  • Slice or grate the ginger for better infusion.
  • Place green tea, ginger slices, and cinnamon in a mug or teapot.
  • Pour hot water over the ingredients and let it steep for 7-10 minutes.
  • Strain if needed and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra metabolism boost, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
Store leftover tea in the fridge and reheat as needed.
Drink 30 minutes before meals for best results.
